Ariel

Who?:
An angel of the Lord, described differently throughout Jewish and Christian scripture. She represents strength, and is believed to be slow to punish, but slow to forgive. She was one of the Angels who opposed to the caging of Lucifer.
What?:
An angel representing as a guardian for the environment. Angel Ariel is believed to be the primary controller for all things physical, and also watches over the Sun, the Moon, the Stars and the Planets. Heavily involved in the environment, and therefore worshipped by many to harness powers of nature. People worshipping Ariel believe that they gain clairvoyance, sentience of animals, and a heightened awareness too. Ariel is depicted as a fierce and mighty lion/lioness (rawr kitty). Mortals and also some immortals perceive her as such, however she can also be seen as a woman with “eyes full of pride and passion and burn with the hearth of God, punishing those who succumb to the darkness”.
When?:
Writings of the angel Ariel can be read in the Bible, ancient Hebrew scripture and Islamic writings. Ariel appears in the Hebrew writings of the Mesha Stele, but not as the name of an angel. Instead it’s used to refer to a Matzevah (sacred pillar) representing a deity, a spirit-lion and hearth altar. Similarly in the Bible, it is used to describe an altar-pillar which had sacrifices brought to it. However, the name could also be used as a personal name, or as a name for a spirit of the lower-world.
Story:
In the Pistis Sophia, Jesus bids farewell to the apostles and tell them to preach that they may be delivered from the “smoke of Ariel“, which could be a reference to Jerusalem, specifically Gehenna, which is a valley holding flames that burn perpetually to dispose of the filth and cadavers thrown into it. In Later Jewish and Christian scripture, Gehenna is a word used to describe Hell.
